Art with Heart Exhibition
Two years ago I was looking for a group to support me with my art, and I found one . The group is built on positive encouragement and good coffee. Group discussions have helped with my “Why isn’t this painting working?” questions. Earlier this year we decided to take the brave step of booking Reyburn House (Whangarei) for a month long exhibition, titled Art with Heart beginning 26 October 2021. The artists are Andrea Lomas, Lyn Gray, Sue Anson, Robyn Hallberg, Mary Stevens and myself.
The following paintings are my contribution to the exhibition. I call the collection Buzz Art. They have been inspired by my garden and long walks. I would like to thank my lemon tree and the pink chrysanthemums that grow under it, and a special mention to the bumble bees, honey bees and butterflies that frequent my garden.

Open Spaces
I produce artwork from stories or places that arouse my interest and curiosity. Nature and people continually provide images and scenes that are memorable, beautiful and also intriguing.
For myself, space has always been important. I love open areas where I can breathe deep and long. Problems dwindle and solutions arrive by just breathing and looking.

Hinemoana Exhibition, March 2020
I was asked to submit a few pieces for the Northland Creative Arts ‘Hinemoana’ exhibition. These works represented the sea and the experiences found in and around it.
‘Ocean Home’.
The sea was choppy and the fishing poor but the mollymawks and albatross were unforgettable. They surrounded our fishing boat, hoping for food. Standing on deck I reached out and touched the tip of the mollymawks wing, she moved slightly, out of reach, then looked me straight in the eye. I can still feel her feathers on my fingertips.
